Vattenfall, the Swedish state-owned energy company, required a reliable standby power supply to ensure the round-the-clock operation of its 3 largest hydroelectric power plants in northern Sweden. DSE distributor Jo’s Marin & Industrielektriska AB won the contract to supply 7 x 450 kVA Volvo 1642 generator sets, each fitted with a DSE5520 module to provide auto-start when a mains failure is detected.
The modules also provide advanced monitoring and control of the engines, remote control and a smooth transfer when power is restored.
