The customer is a company that manufactures and distributes large-scale power generation solutions to a variety of markets, and required a solution for a hybrid system. A hybrid energy system brings together multiple types of energy generation. Within this hybrid system, an overall control module was needed to oversee the operation of the microgrid.
The DSEM812 was chosen to manage the use of various energy sources, including the mains/utility, solar power and a diesel generator set. The DSE8610 MKII, in turn, operates by taking instructions from the DSEM812 to generate the exact amount of power required from the generator set.
