The system used 2 load-sharing generators controlled by DSE8610 controllers, installed in the basement of the apartment block. Each floor of the building was connected to a DSE333 ATS Controller that controlled the load transfer to the generator supply. Thanks to this system, the load was applied in stages as each floor was brought online.
This method prevented a possible step-load situation that could be large enough to exceed the load acceptance capability of the generator sets and cause the system to fail. Likewise, the gradual transfer of the load from the generators to the mains ensured that the system continued to operate normally and initiated the shutdown sequence when the last step load was removed.
