Ceylinco Reality Plaza is a large shopping complex housing 200 upmarket stores, a 300-seat cinema and a large food court. Located in the town of Ja-ela in the Gampaha district of Sri Lanka, the new shopping complex required an emergency standby power supply in the event of a possible mains failure. Under the project, completed in March 2007, the company was supplied with 3 x 500KVA synchronising generators fitted with Volvo 1641 electronic engines. DSE5510 modules were installed in the panel for synchronisation, control and monitoring, while a DSE530 was fitted for mains monitoring and changeover control.

Their control system did not include some features such as priority selection, hours balancing, loss of excitation and remote communication from the engineer’s room.
