There is a requirement for approximately 150 to 200 generator-mounted synchronisation stations. Each station will be self-sufficient (that is, it will include a motorised breaker and all the fully automatic synchronisation controls) and will be mounted in the same container as the generator. There are two distinct requirements in this application.
1. For rental generators: The rental company will hire out as many generators as required according to its customer’s power needs (for example, a requirement for 4000KW will be met with 4×1000 KW generators running in parallel).
2. For sites with stand-alone generators running continuously (for example, oil wells): These sites are critical, but the running generators will require the necessary planned maintenance. It is recommended that each generator be equipped with a synchronisation station and that, when required, a mobile generator, also equipped with a synchronisation station, be brought in and connected (via an existing isolated breaker) to the running generator.
