The German Jordanian University has a student community of around 5,000 Jordanian and international students. In the car parks, rooftop-style vehicle canopies are used for solar panels; these panels provide shade for vehicles during the hot hours of the day while generating up to 2.11 MW of power.

The solar panels are divided into 6 different zones, each connected to the mains using a DSEP100 Mains Decoupling Relay.
